A tragic road accident in Karachi’s Federal B area claimed the lives of a young brother and sister, leaving others injured According to initial reports the accident was caused by a speeding oil tanker that lost control and crashed into multiple vehicles on the road
Following the incident chaos erupted in the area as angry residents gathered at the scene In an expression of grief and outrage protesters set seven dumperson fire. The vehicles, reportedly worth crores of rupees were completely destroyed before emergency services could respond
Police arrived at the scene shortly after the protests began and detained multiple individuals. However residents claim that many of those arrested were not involved in the protest Eyewitnesses allege that some of the detainees were simply seated at nearby hotels and shops when the incident occurred The detentions have triggered further public anger with calls for authorities to ensure that only those directly involved are held accountable
Meanwhile, the president of the Dumpers Association Liyaqat Mehsud condemned the destruction of Dumpers stating that the accident was caused by a tanker not by dumpers. He expressed frustration over the targeting of their vehicles and announced a protest on Super Highway to demand justice and protection for their members. This is completely unjust Mehsud said “Our trucks had nothing to do with the accident yet they were destroyed in the heat of the moment
He further confirmed that the protest will continue until their demands are met and until those responsible are identified and action is taken
The incident has sparked widespread debate on social media where many users expressed sympathy for the victims and their families.
