on the occasion of 14th August’s “Maarka-e-Haq JDC Foundation’s head Zafar Abbas has officially written a appeal to Mayor Karachi, Murtaza Wahab, requesting practical support to establish a free blood collection point at Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases (KIHD).A Vision of Free Diagnostics for the Entire City If KMC stands with us, we can truly uplift the city’s underserved patients.”
JDC is fully prepared to set up a modern fully equipped blood collection point at KIHD all they require is the allocation of just two rooms within the hospital. These facilities will be staffed with trained professionals and fitted with advanced diagnostic machinery, enabling patients to access high-quality, free diagnostic services.
Zafar Abbas emphasizes that thousands of poor and underprivileged patients in Karachi are suffering due to high medical costs. Free testing facilities, like the one proposed, could serve as a lifeline for them. JDC has already been running free diagnostic centers and labs, and this partnership with KMC could take the effort citywide.
In his letter to Mayor Karachi, Zafar Abbas made a direct and urgent appeal for immediate cooperation, stating
“We are ready. Karachi is ready. Let’s lead by example and create the first city in Pakistan with free lab tests for all
To turn Karachi into a city where no citizen is denied basic healthcare just because they can’t afford a test.
This initiative, if supported by KMC could mark a revolutionary step in public health not just for Karachi, but as a model for the entire nation.
