Farooq Khokhar, who recently joined Jamiat Ulema e-Islam (F), has revealed in a podcast interview that he narrowly escaped what he believes could have been a encounter, due to timely intervention by PML-N leader Hamza Shahbaz Sharif.
Speaking on the YouTube channel 24Plus, Khokhar recounted an incident from his past where, according to him, he was moments away from being targeted in an encounter like situation. He claimed that a phone call from Hamza Shahbaz at a critical moment played a key role in stopping that incident
Khokhar stated that he holds deep gratitude for the Hamza Shahbaz saying that he owes his life to that phone call. “If he hadn’t called , I might not be here today,” he said during the podcast. “People ask why I respect him I respect him because he valued my life at a time when I had no one else.
In his remarks, Khokhar also mentioned the Crime Control Department’s performance in tackling rising crime in parts of the country, acknowledging their efforts in improving law and order. However he clarified that he personally does not support any form of justice outside legal frameworks.
