Citizens must come forward and document their losses Barrister Hasan urged We have already collected evidence of damage and it’s time the Sindh government pays back to the people whose lives have been wrecked
Citing the Constitution Barrister Hasan Khan reminded that the right to life is a fundamental right under Pakistani law If gross negligence has endangered that right and citizens repeatedly warned authorities then the courts must intervene.
The legal petition will not only highlight criminal negligence on part of civic authorities but also call for the Sindh government to establish a framework of compensation and relief for those who lost property businesses and even loved ones in the floods.
For the people of Karachi this could be the first step toward justice and accountability in a city that drowns every monsoon
