Karachi – August 1, 2025:
The United States Consulate General in Karachi has issued a security alert to its citizens and diplomatic personnel following credible threats of possible terrorist attacks targeting high-profile locations in the city.
According to official sources, the consulate has received intelligence indicating potential threats against major hotels in Karachi. In response, the US mission has advised all American citizens residing in or visiting the city to remain vigilant, avoid large gatherings, and limit non-essential movement.
The advisory also urges Americans to steer clear of public spaces such as shopping malls, bazaars, tourist spots, and restaurants, especially during peak hours. Additionally, the movement of US personnel has been restricted in and around sensitive zones, including major hotels, in an effort to minimize exposure to potential risks.
Security has been heightened in areas considered vulnerable, and coordination with local law enforcement has been reinforced. The Consulate emphasized the importance of maintaining personal security protocols and staying informed through official updates.
